Johns Hopkins University

Background

I began my web design and development journey as an intern at the Technology Innovation Center (TIC) at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU). Throughout my time at the TIC, my role shifted into the team's primary front-end developer. While I continued to support my team with UX/UI research and design, my ability to deliver responsive web user interfaces while maintaining high design fidelity became my greatest strength and asset to the team. I don’t know if it’s me, but there is something so fun about translating designs and bringing a UI to life with code!

Project Highlights

Here are some of the UIs that I coded based on designs from our talented graphic designer:

Bedside Education in the Art of Medicine (BEAM) Featured on JHU's The Hub!
No One Dies Alone (NODA)
Chesapeake Digital Health Exchange (CDHX)
Johns Hopkins Tech Hub
Precision Medicine Symposium Conference Website
Precision Medicine Analytics Platform

Challenges

Due to limited budgets and timelines, design mockups were handed off to me with only the desktop view. Using my design and technical expertise of the frameworks used within our products, I was able to serve as a bridge between development and design by providing guidance on responsive UI design while taking into consideration technical constraints.

It's not all about work.
